Race Kit Collection

The Organizer will issue the redemption notice at the end of March. If you cannot receive the relevant email by Apr 1, please contact osouthfest@runourcity.org

Free Parking

All participants can enjoy 3 hours of free parking at O’South Coast malls (Capri Place, Monterey Place and Savannah Place) on the Event day (Apr 21, 2024). Reception staff shall have the rights to request participants to present proof of race, including but not limited to bib or Hong Kong Identity Card for registration. Each participant can only use the free parking offer once. Free parking spaces are on a first-come, first-served basis. If there are insufficient parking spaces, the mall reserves the right to suspend the relevant free parking privileges as needed.

Suggested Gear

Participants shall wear appropriate gear in the Event. Participants are advised to bring sufficient food and drinks, a mobile phone with emergency contacts, a power bank, cash and an Octopus card.

Number Bib

Participants shall wear their number bibs during the race.

No Appeal

The Organizer’s decision on any disqualification is final.

Staff Instructions

Under all circumstances, runners must follow instructions of any event staff on the track. The Organizer reserves the right to forbid incompliant participants from future events, and to immediately disqualify the participant.

No Littering

No littering is allowed on the course. If any participant is found littering, he or she will be disqualified. Please dispose of the refuse in the rubbish bin.

Emergency

In case of emergency, please call 999 for the police.

Adverse weather

  • If the Hong Kong Observatory issues thunderstorm warning, Typhoon Signal No. 3 or above, or a Red or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal on the day of the event (Sunday, April 21, 2024) at 6:00 am or later, the race will be canceled. Participants are advised to pay attention to the weather conditions and forecasts on the day before the race, especially regarding the possible issuance of thunderstorm warning, Typhoon Signal No. 3 or above, or Red or Black Rainstorm Warning Signals within the expected timeframe. For the latest event updates, participants should check the event’s website and social media platforms on the day of the event at 6:00 am.
  • Strong Wind Arrangements: Due to the wind speed conditions on the Tseung Kwan O Cross Bay Link, the government may decide to close pedestrian walkways and cycle paths if the wind speed on the bridge reaches 40 kilometers per hour and persists for a period of time. If on the day of the event (Sunday, April 21, 2024) at 6:00 am or later, the pedestrian walkways and cycle paths on the Tseung Kwan O Cross Bay Link are closed due to high bridge winds, the event will proceed as scheduled, but the running route will be changed. Participants are advised to follow the instructions of on-site and track staff.
  • If the event is re-scheduled or suspended due to any of the above reasons, no refund requests of the registration fees will be entertained.

Health and Safety Advice

  • Participants shall understand the Event details and acknowledge the activity is physically demanding, and may cause injury or even death.
  • Participants shall be well trained and physically fit for the activity. For any question, please consult medical professionals in advance.
  • Participants who are pregnant or with chronic diseases, such as heart disease and hypertension, should not participate in the activity.
  • During the activity, participants shall be attentive to their own physical conditions. If they feel unwell, please stop immediately.
  • Participants must comply with the traffic regulation and pay attention to vehicles when crossing the road.
  • Participants must bear full responsibility for their health, safety and third-party liabilities during the activity. Participants are advised to purchase their own insurance if necessary. The Organizer, affiliated corporation(s) and all staff will not be liable for the health, safety and third-party liabilities of participants. Once participants submit their application and participate in the competition, they agree to:
    • Ensure that their physical condition is suitable to participate in and finish the competition without medical assistance or other assistance; and
    • If his/her physical condition is unsuitable for the Event and therefore cause:
      • Injury or death to himself/herself or others; and
      • any property damage, participants agree to exempt the Organizer from all liability

Event Regulations

OFFICIAL RULES

A. General

A1 If a participant is found by the Organiser to have violated any of the following Official Rules, the Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any person and nullify his/her result of the Event. The Organiser may also forbid such person from participating in future races, competitions and events by the Organiser.

A1.1 The participant commits or attempts to commit any act which is in violation of the laws of HKSAR and the Hong Kong National Security Law.

A1.2 The participant carries out or attempts to carry out any kind of demonstration or political, religious or racial propaganda at the Event or other venues or areas relating to the Event.

A1.3 The participant’s act violates the interest of national security.

A1.4 Participant brings any banners, posters, placards, leaflets/publicity, outfits and/or displaying tattoos or materials which are considered abusive, threatening, discriminatory, religious or political.

B. Eligibility

B1 Eligibilities, bibs, and timing chips are non-transferable. Violation will result in disqualification and no refund of registration fees will be entertained.

B2 The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify, exclude the relevant person from the race, and take disciplinary action against any applicants who have provided incorrect or untrue personal data/details on their entry forms. No refund of registration fees will be entertained under any such circumstances.

B3 Participants will be disqualified if they do not start at the designated race category and start time assigned by the Organiser. No result and certificate will be issued to such participants.

C. During the Race

C1 No pets or any form of wheel-run transport, e.g. wheelchair, bicycles, skates, trolleys, shoes with built-in or attached rollers, etc, are allowed on the course.

C2 Dangerous goods (i.e. offensive weapons, flammable, explosive agents or materials/objects which obstruct other participants, etc) are strictly prohibited. Those who violate this rule will be asked to leave the course immediately and such cases may be reported to the law enforcement agency.

C3 Participants must not use any external auxiliary equipment in the race (except prosthetic limb(s)).

C4 Participants must retire from the race and leave the racecourse immediately if requested by any race officials, medical staff, race director, referees or security. 

The Organiser has the sole and final right to determine whether a participant violates, contravenes or complies with any of the above rules.

EVENT TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Entries

1.1 Upon submitting his/her application, an applicant declares that he/she agrees to and accepts the Event Terms & Conditions, the Official Rules and all other rules and regulations which may be adopted by the Organiser thereafter.

1.2 Participants understand and agree that participation in the Event is voluntary and at their own risk. Each participant agrees to absolve the Organizer and any sponsor and/or supporting organizations from all liabilities arising from bodily injuries, accidents, death or other losses during or caused by travelling to and from the Event venue during the Event or whatsoever reason.

1.3 Each participant shall be physically fit to participate in the Event. The Organizer reserves the right to disallow or disqualify any person who is known or suspected by the Organizer to be physically unfit to participate in the Event and such person shall accept such decision of the Organizer.

1.4 All information provided by the participant in the registration form must be true and accurate.

1.5 All entries must be submitted before the registration deadline. Entry is on a first-come, first-served basis.

1.6 The Organizer reserves the right to close the registration any time, whether before or after the registration deadline, without prior notification.

1.7 The Organizer will charge HKD100 administration fee for the change of participant’s personal data after the submission of an application. 

1.8 Participants aged below 18 must obtain consent by a parent/guardian.

1.9 All participants should register according to the age requirement of each category respectively (if applicable). Offenders will be disqualified and requested to leave the Event venue. The age of the participants shall be calculated based on the date of competition.

1.10 Participants shall indemnify and/or reimburse the Organizer in respect of any additional expenses or costs incurred by the Organizer arising from or in connection with any fault, action or behaviour of such participants during the Event.

1.11 Public liability insurance is covered by the Organizer. This does not include personal accident insurance. Participants should purchase their own personal accident insurance and other insurance as needed.

1.12 The terms and conditions include versions in the English language and Chinese language. If there is any discrepancy between the English and Chinese version, the Chinese version shall prevail. The Organizer reserves the right to amend the rules and regulations. Should there be disputes, the Organizer reserves the right of final decision.

2. During the Race

2.1 Participants shall be physically fit to participate in the Event. The Organizer reserves the right to disallow or disqualify any person who is known or suspected by the Organizer to be physically unfit to participate in the Event and such person shall accept such decision of the Organizer.

2.2 Participants should place the race bib visibly in front of the top clothing with the participant number shown clearly.

2.3 Participants shall keep their own race bib securely.  The Organizer would not re-issue a new race bib under any circumstances.

2.4 Participants should enter the waiting zone on time, or otherwise be disqualified.

2.5 Participants must undergo security checks and have their belongings searched as instructed before they can enter the starting area. Participants who fail the checks may be asked to leave the Event venue. 

2.6 Participants must not harass or impede other participants from activities or competitions. Offenders will be disqualified and requested to leave the Event venue.

2.7 If first aid assistance is needed, please inform the staff or call the emergency contact number printed on the race bib.

2.8 Cheating and doping are not allowed. Offenders will be disqualified.

2.9 Official Time will be used to determine the prizes and positions.

2.10 Should there be disputes of the prizes and positions, the Organizer reserves the right of final decision.

2.11 Race winners will be required to present their identification including Hong Kong Identity Card, passport or Registration Card for People with Disabilities for verification.

2.12 E-certificate of Achievement will be issued to all qualified participants who completed the Event with an Official Time within the Time Limit in all categories. Participants who do not start the race according to the designated start time and assigned race category, and participants who do not complete the race, shall not be entitled to any awards and certificates.

3. Event Cancellation & Refund Policy

3.1 The Organiser/Event Producer reserves the right to cancel or cut short the Event for the following reasons. Registration fee and charitable donation (if applicable) will not be refunded.

  • Adverse weather conditions (typhoon signal No. 3 or above, red/ black rainstorm signals)
  • Landslides, rock falls or hill fires along the course.
  • Protests or blockage along the course.
  • Force majeure, i.e., due to occurrence of incidents that are beyond the control of the Organiser/Event Producer and which renders it impossible, unsafe or impractical to hold the Event. A force majeure event shall include, but is not limited to, act of God, war, hostilities, invasion, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, riot, commotion, strikes, go-slows, lock outs or disorder, outbreak of disease, acts or threats of terrorism.

3.2 No refund is allowed after the registration is completed. Registration fee paid for duplicated entries will not be refunded and places cannot be transferred to another applicant or activities. If a participant allows another party to attend on his or her behalf, both the participant and the runner who run on behalf of the participant will be disqualified and might not allowed to participate in future events.

3.3 The Organiser/Event Producer reserves the right to disqualify any person and/or nullify his or her result due to any violation the Official Rules of the Event. No refund will be accommodated in the case of disqualifications (applicable to events).

The Organiser/Event Producer reserves the right of final decision of the Event. Any changes or contingent measures for the Event announced by the Organiser/Event Producer and posted on the Event’s website shall prevail.
